Downloadable Glossy Photoshop Button

Here's a glossy button I created in Photoshop CS3. You can download it and customize it if you'd like. There is a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer which makes it easy to change the color of the button. Just double click the layer thumbnail and adjust the settings until you get the color you want. The text layer can easily be changed as well since the inset effect is created using a Bevel and Emboss layer style.

Below are three examples of how the button can be customized by quickly adjusting the hue and altering the text:

Eugene Hutz - Gogol Bordello

Here's my take on Eugene Hutz, the lead singer for the super awesome gypsy punk rock band Gogol Bordello. The sketch was done with a brown Crayola marker and colored in Photoshop.

Here's a video of the band on Letterman. I had never heard of them until I happened to catch this performance late one night when nothing else was on TV. I'm glad I did. I saw them live at First Ave in Minneapolis and they were amazing.

I have found a good way to create quality portfolio images in a relatively short amount of time is to browse through my old caricature sketches, pick one that has a strong likeness of the subject, scan it into Photoshop and start coloring. I have a ton of old sketches lying around that are begging to be colored. The sketch I used to create this painting of Bill Murray is from 2003.

I spent a few hours last Friday night and Saturday morning working on this illustration. This is the first digitally rendered caricature that I've done in quite some time. It felt good to get in that zone once again.
